A standard solvent recovery set, using a liquid ring pump as the vacuum source.
In this instance the solvent is recovered under vacuum before the vacuum pump unit. This is standard procedure for a drier on a multi purpose system where the solvents change frequently.
The vacuum pump is filled initially with water as the circulating fluid. The seal fluid needs to be changed at regular intervals as the water becomes contaminated with solvent.
The coolant to the system, can be cooling tower water or chilled water, for faster drying times.
In instances where the drier is dedicated to one solvent, the solvent is used in the vacuum pump as the seal liquid.
