An alternative method of generating a vacuum using a liquid operated ejector. The solvent evaporated from the product is used as the circulated liquid driving the ejector.
There are several advantages with this systems, as follows:
1 The ejector will operate at the vapour pressure of the solvent, without cavitation damage, giving a better end vacuum when the product is dry.
2 A pre-condensor is not required, the vapours are condensed within the ejector by direct condensation.
3 The recovered solvent is “tapped-off” from the circulator pump discharge at 2 Bar pressure eliminating the need for a further solvent transfer pump.
